The Canary Islands are a Spanish archipelago located off the northwest coast of mainland Africa.

Tenerife is the largest island, and most populated one in Spain. Its main cities are Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital, and San Cristobal de La Laguna. Teide National Park, Masca, a beautiful hidden village on the edge of the Teno Mountains, and the Orotava Valley vineyards and plantations must be seen.

Gran Canaria is the most populated island in the province of Las Palmas. The two highest points in the island are Roque Nublo and the Peak of Snow. From the sand dunes of the south to the temperate weather in the north, this island has it all.

Fuerteventura is the second largest island, with Puerto del Rosario as its capital. It is the oldest of the islands. At La Lajita Oasis Park, you can see a parrot show, ride a camel or wrestle an alligator. Or visit the amazing lighthouse at Faro de la Entallada.

La Palma is a biosphere reserve. Tenequia Volcano, now resting, erupted last in 1971. Visit Plaza La Glorieta in Las Mancas, the Cave of the Guances near La Zarza, and Parque Belmaco near Mazo. This island is full of interesting archaeological sites.

Lanzarote is the easternmost island, whose capital is Arrecife. You must see Timanfaya National Park, the albino crabs of Jameos Del Agua, Cueva de los Verdes , and Castillo de San Jose.

La Graciosa, the smallest, El Hierro, the farthest west, and La Gomera, known for Garajonay National Park, are the last three of the islands.
